Abstract

The current study aims to identify the role of dialogic leadership practices in the improvement of organizational harmony at Rafidain Bank, Tikrit Branch, through a survey of the employees' opinions about the dimensions of organizational harmony (self-harmony, harmony with employees, harmony with other departments, harmony between internal and external people and harmony with leadership), as well as the level of the employees' perceptions of the presence of dialogic leadership practices (respect, listening, commenting, and expression). The objectives of the study were achieved by using descriptive-analytical approach. Data was collected using a census method with the sample being composed of all of the employees in Rafidain Bank Tikrit Branch (42) individuals. The instrument used for collecting field data from the study sample is questionnaire. The data were analyzed and processed using the statistical programs SPSS V24 and AMOS V21. Several findings emerged from the study, most importantly, that there was a strong, positive, direct and statistically significant correlation between the use of dialogic leadership practices and the organizational harmony. This suggests that the more the leaders embrace dialogic leadership practices the stronger is also the harmony of the organization; and the more the leaders embrace the harmony of the organization, the stronger is also their dialogic leadership practices. The findings also showed that the dialogic leadership practices had a significant impact on organizational harmony, with respect showing the highest impact on organizational harmony. This confirms that organizational leaders regard employees as highly valuable, take their opinions into consideration, and respect their decisions. As an additional value, the study enriched the Arab administrative literature with theoretical concepts for leadership practices in a dialogic manner, which were not dealt with by any Arab study in the researcher's knowledge. On the practical side, the study took place in a crucial and active banking company that has an impact on the general public.
