EVALUATING THE IMPACT OF SUPPLY CHAIN QUALITY ON SUPPLIER PERFORMANCE: A FIELD STUDY AT THE GENERAL COMPANY FOR ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, BAGHDAD

This study examined the impact of supply chain quality on supplier performance at the General Company for Electrical and Electronic Industries in Baghdad. Supply chain quality was measured through five dimensions: top management support, supplier relationships, total quality management, information integration, and continuous improvement. Supplier performance was assessed through quality, delivery, flexibility, and cost. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach. The population comprised 245 employees from relevant departments, from which a purposive sample of 150 employees was selected. A total of 127 valid questionnaires were collected and analyzed. Data were collected using a questionnaire whose validity and reliability were established. The overall Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.947. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 26.The findings indicated moderate levels of both supply chain quality and supplier performance, with mean scores of 3.60 and 3.51, respectively. Total quality management recorded the highest mean among supply chain quality dimensions, while cost was the highest supplier performance dimension. The results also revealed a statistically significant positive relationship between supply chain quality and supplier performance. The combined dimensions of supply chain quality significantly explained 65.9% of the variance in supplier performance. Supplier relationships emerged as the most influential dimension.The study recommends strengthening long-term strategic supplier relationships, investing in digital infrastructure and information-sharing systems, establishing a specialized supplier development unit, adopting continuous improvement practices, and implementing supplier performance evaluation systems based on measurable indicators.
